Unless you are bench resting andshooting targetsshooting, you probably will not notice any difference between 7n6 and quality (Fed, IMI, etc.) 556.
I have an LWRC M6AK and it shoots essentially as well as my 556.
Terminal ballistics of 7n6 are better (IMO) than all but the exotic 556 rounds.

I have a M1S with 20″ bbl and float tube, NM iron sights, plain muzzle.
From the prone position as in Service Rifle, it will hold the X ring @ 100 yards using the SR-1 and SR-21 targets, using surplus.
Sorry, but I don’t have any scanned in. I built this for the kid to have cheap short range practise and it becomes everybody’s favorite once they shoot it….

Kind of a drift but is there really much of a gain (other than sight radius if using irons) in going with the 20″ barrel instead of a 16″? I mean the 5.45 velocity is up there anyway and doesn’t lose much out of a short barrel so does the extra few inches stabilize even more to show a big difference accuracy wise?

5.45 was designed for use in 16″ barrels, and has some great velocity already out of a 16″, so I see no practical benefits in a longer pipe. Vuurwapen did a great video on 5.45 at 600yds, and printed some nice groups at that range as well, which is way more performance than the Soviets ever envisioned for the caliber, unless talking about a long-barreled RPKS-74.

so then this 5.45 is actually a pretty good accurate round??? why is everybody talking about Cproduct mags for this… will regular Pmags not work..????
so is it safe to say that a 5.45 Ar should be able to produce 1moa or better????

5.45 hits stuff that I point it at as far as I can see with the naked eye. I don’t shoot paper so I’m not sure what groups I’m getting.

If you search, there was a recent post (not necessarily here ) by someone who modified PMag followers to work with 5.45 to near if not full capacity. Unmodified, the case taper of the 5.45 round causes the rounds to bind at far less than full (30 round) capacity.
I don’t know as I have had what I guess is extremely good luck with C-Products mags.

Exotic rounds, yes; others no.
The “not really a hollow point” tip of 7n6 allows the nose to “collapse” on impact and tumble.
Remember, we are talking about surplus rounds which are around $0.15 each, not exotic Mk7422 at $1.00 each.
If I had a choice of which I was going to be shot with, it would NOT be 7n6 5.45.

It’s as accurate (or consistent I guess) as the 5.56 stuff I paid double for. At least it is once I realized how important Loctite is on mounting screws…

Well I not prone to that saying….but I sometimes with I would have bought one that has the swivel…I just ordered an ARMS Harris Bipod adapter because everyone seems to be out of the LaRue. How does everyone feel about them?

I have two….(I got mine from VTac though)…one on my duty AR and one on my Personal AR. I love them….comfortable….versital….and easy to use. I like being able to tighten it up especially if I need to close distance with a suspect to cuff him….it keeps the AR tight in and more controlable.

Q. Why do Pro Ears have mics and volume knobs of each cup?
Answer
A. Pro Ears features individual electronics in each cup which allows for true stereo sound, multi-directional mics and individual volume controls that work like your ears so you have a complete, 360 degree range of hearing. The volume controls allow you to adjust each side to accommodate hearing protection range anomalies and have control of situations which may require volume level differences between left and right ear. Additionally, by having the electronics in each cup we eliminate the need for wires connecting one side to the other that is awkward and easy to snag or break.
Q: What causes my Pro-Ears to whistle or squeal?
Answer
A: Pro-Ears should not whistle or squeal like other poorly designed electronic hearing protection protectors.
