Sig Sauer 239 magazines
Sig Sauer 239 magazines was cleaned and lubed before heading out. I soaked the extractor in CLP at the range and cleaned it there. That didn’t make any difference in the frequency of FTEx.
This is a real disappointment for me. I really, really like the way the Sig Sauer 239 magazine feels and points. The trigger was fine and for the 6 times the pistol actually functioned as a auto-loader follow-up shots seemed to be fast. I was hoping that this was going to be my new carry pistol, but that isn’t going to happen until it’s fixed.

Safariland Holsters
Thanks for that info. I wouldn’t expect them to be of poor quality based on everything I’ve read about RC here and elsewhere. The wings are a newer option. Before it was the clips attached to the main holster which I believe is still an option. Having the safariland tactical holsters farther out might help spread the weight and get the clips out of the way and by making the wings flexible will allow for it to adjust to curvature of different body shapes better than if the wings were made of the same material as the holster itself. More good innovation from RC.
After spending $140 and waiting six months, I received a High-Noon "Closing Argument" for my G26 (I know, not the same as you’re talking about, but High-noon follows a similar pattern for their IWB Pocket Holsters). Thank god for their no-questions-asked return policy. It felt like I was carrying a brick in my pants. I shipped that POS back ASAP, and bought an Safariland Holsters. It was $80 and it came in a Pistol Magazine. It is so comfortable I forget it’s there, and it conceals nicely.
One thing I’ll give High-Noon: they use metal belt clips. If the MTAC had metal belt clips, it would be perfect. For $25, the Bare Asset may get the job done cheaply, but the High-noon design is subpar, IMO.
Dead…. personally, I see no need to spend that kind of money nor wait that long for a holster.
There’s nothing the least bit subpar about the cowboy holsters in my use; I LOVE it. And the $25 price! And the immediate availability!
The BareAsset does exactly what I want it to do and I am "barely" aware that I’m even carrying…. which is the main complaint I have with so many holsters that feel like you’re wearing some sort of a heavily built orthopedic device or something. At $25 and immediate shipping, the BareAsset holds my gun at a nice cant, just behind my hip, securely, comfortably, and effectively. I’m a very happy camper with them!
Leave the gun in it at night for awhile before using a gun holster? When I was a kid we used to tie a mitt around a baseball and soak it in water. Have no idea if it really did anything.
I bought one galco Pocket Holster that I have had for awhile and the pistol holster still won’t come out of the holster without a God awful yankhttp://www.ar15.com/images/pixels/clear.gif

Airsoft
I am pretty new here, but wanted to bring this up. If this has been discussed before and everyone is tired of hearing about it, I apologize. I don’t have a search option since I am testing the water to see if I want to be a paying member, so bare with me. Heck, I don’t even know if this is the right place to post this.
I want to start a post about Airsoft. Airsoft isn’t that for kids? Let me explain how I came to Airsoft. I spent time in the Military, private security, and then into Law Enforcement. After almost two decades I have found that the best training is force on force. Anyone who has experienced QUALITY force on force training will probably tell you that. My problem……money. To do simunitions training is expensive after the initial set up fee of somewhere around $400 a gun you then have to pay about 57 cents a shot (which adds up quickly). So I found a group of guys that were interested in paintball. We set up a course, but the realism was just not there. I did learn a lot from my paintball days. I learned that I stuck my elbow out to far and quickly learned to turn my elbows in, this was learned thru much bruising. I also learned how to use cover better and to my advantage. The guns were not realistic but the knowledge and experiences I learned are priceless.
Since I have a drive to improve and expand I have kept an eye on Airsoft and have been very interested. I found one story interesting, a citizen of Japan, where it is illegal to have a handgun (must be crime free, huh?) practiced religiously with an airsoft pistol. He came to the United States and from what I understand, borrowed a real gun and competed in the Bianca cup steel challenge. He WON, beating out all of the top world class shooters.
I carry a Sig 229 R DAK everyday and want a clone for practice and training. After Christmas I took my Christmas money and went to a local airsoft shop. I felt very old there since I had at least a decade on everyone at the shop. I bought an airsoft clone of a Sig 229 R (they don’t make a DAK model). My impressions of the gun is UNBELIVEABLE! The gun functions, feels, and looks just like a Sig 229 R. The slide cycles after each shot and even locks back after the magazine is empty. The trigger pull is just okay. The slide does not have as much tension as my real 229 so when I holster it it has a tendency to have the slide to go out of battery. My M3 TAC light is one of the originals and doesn’t fit on very well, but the newer ones that go on like a claw fit well. The only real thing that sets it apart is that the barrel sticks out a little more from the slide and is painted a bright orange. As a side note I wish this thing was a totally different color since this thing looks real and if someone pointed this thing at me I would not hesitate to shoot them. I handed this gun to every officer that I showed it to with the slide locked back, grip towards them with the orange band covered. As soon as I handed off the gun the look on their face was fun to watch when they realized there was a bright orange barrel sticking out. Everyone believed this to be real till they saw the orange band and some still questioned that it wasn’t a real gun.

Bullets
We started our company as BDX Mfg. as a small family operation in 1974. At that time, we did custom reloading. We ran that until 1985 when we sold the reloading portion and went into the bullet manufacturing specialty. We specialized in lead swaged bullets and worked on making a full line of small pistol lead bullets. Things changed and we started manufacturing copper jacketed bullets in 1991. We reorganized and renamed the business Montana Gold Bullet Incorporated. The jacketed Bullets have been very popular with past and new customers alike. The CMJ (complete metal jacket) is the newest item in the market from our line. We deal mostly on the wholesale level. We do not have a retail store. We do have pickup orders. Call ahead for packaging, etc.
